Barbie with a laptop to attract more girls to science. high-tech industries? Seriously?!?

As an engineer, I’ve never had a pink laptop, never worn pink glasses or pink head band! Someone gave me a barbie when I was 6, I cut her hair real short and chopped off her long princess gown! In the end, my barbie looks more like Tina Turner!

I had coffee with a friend and she complained how much she regretted not being an engineer. She took a basic computing class in high school and was being made fun of by other girls. Girls were calling her names like ‘dork’, ‘geek, ‘nerd’. She never went back for the 2nd class because she didn’t want to be known as a nerd or geek, it’s a very unpopular image.

I hope one day we can figure out a practical way to make Math and Science cool other than using a barbie doll!
